
Payroll Analyst I – General Ledgers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accurately generate payroll entries for unionized staff represented by over 175 local Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
• Assess and interpret ratifications of Collective Bargaining Agreements and implement them in employee payroll processes.
• Prepare and evaluate calculations for union health & welfare and pension contributions, along with monthly reporting.
• Manage, analyze, and report on union dues deductions as directed by local unions.
• Prepare and submit weekly contributions to union 401K plans.
• Conduct audits of payroll cycles to ensure accuracy in deductions and transactions, including retroactive calculations, union dues, regular pay rates, FLSA overtime premiums, and union benefit premiums.
• Process special payments as per collective bargaining agreements, including vacation buybacks, boot allowances, safety payments, and union bonuses.
• Collaborate with HR Management, Total Rewards, HRIS, Field Management, and payroll teams.
• Generate payroll reports upon request.
• Share knowledge with team members and provide support to the team.
• Execute payroll system testing and configuration.
• Concentrate on general ledger and account reconciliations.
• Proven experience in multi-state payroll processing.
• Fundamental understanding of regular pay rate calculations as per the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams.
• At least 3 years of experience in payroll, finance, or a related field.
• Background in processing payroll for large organizations with 10,000 or more employees.
• Experience managing multiple union payrolls.
• Familiarity with Workday or a comparable Human Capital Management (HCM) system.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, particularly with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Experience with payroll systems like ADP, Lawson, Ceridian, and Kronos.
• Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
