This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review and analyze Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) ratifications and implement as necessary to ensure timely and precise employee payroll.
• Prepare and evaluate calculations for union health & welfare, as well as pension contributions and monthly reporting, ensuring adherence to contracted deadlines.
• Maintain, assess, and report accurate deductions for union dues as directed by local unions.
• Prepare and submit contributions for union 401K reporting on a weekly basis.
• Conduct audits of the payroll cycle to ensure the accuracy of various deductions and transactions, including but not limited to: retroactive calculations, union dues deductions, Department of Labor Regular Rate of Pay, FLSA overtime premiums, and union benefit premiums.
• Process special payments in accordance with collective bargaining agreements, which include but are not limited to vacation buybacks, boot allowances, safety bonuses, and other union incentives.
• Collaborate effectively with HR Management, Total Rewards, HRIS, Field Management, and other cross-functional payroll teams (such as tax, time, and attendance, etc.).
• Prepare payroll reports as required.
• Responsible for transferring knowledge to other team members and providing support to the team.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned, including payroll system testing and configuration.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll, finance, or a related field.
• Experience in processing multi-state payroll.
• Basic understanding of the regular rate of pay calculation as per the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
• Background in payroll processing for large organizations with 10,000 or more employees.
• Experience managing multiple union payrolls.
• Familiarity with Workday or a similar HCM system.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, particularly with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Experience using payroll applications (e.g., ADP, Lawson, Ceridian, and Kronos).
