This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Executes all payroll functions to guarantee precise, timely, and efficient processing, calculation, and disbursement of the bi-weekly payroll.
• Processes off-cycle payments in accordance with company policies as well as federal and state regulations.
• Handles leave of absences and accurately tracks FMLA or STD within UKG.
• Investigates, analyzes, and resolves payroll-related inquiries, questions, and discrepancies.
• Oversees inquiries, payroll adjustments, and requests.
• Collaborates with various departments to resolve payroll-related issues.
• Reviews exception and audit reports in UKG Ready to ensure accurate employee compensation in alignment with policy.
• Communicates with managers and employees regarding timecard-related matters.
• Examines benefit elections to confirm accurate representation of employee selections in payroll.
• Troubleshoots and investigates discrepancies in deductions as necessary.
• Maintains knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal and state tax regulations, and is familiar with all types of pre- and post-tax benefits, 401K/403B, and leave of absence rules and regulations.
• Develops and maintains documentation for payroll processes and procedures.
• Supports testing for upgrades and new releases of the payroll system.
• Participates in all year-end activities, including reconciliations, ensuring year-end tax forms are accurate and distributed promptly.
• Responsible for completing pay period and monthly reporting, including entering journal entries in the general ledger.
• Must be knowledgeable about electronic timecard systems and processes.
• Provides guidance and reports to colleagues and leadership.
• Responsible for processing new hires, terminations, and all company deductions within UKG Ready.
• Acts as a liaison to third-party vendors to ensure seamless delivery of payroll settlement, taxes, and benefits.
• Delivers exceptional customer service by promptly responding to employee and leadership inquiries regarding payroll issues.
• Assists with special projects and other assigned tasks.
• A Bachelor’s degree or 2-3 years of experience is required.
• Experience in non-profit organizations and familiarity with UKG Ready is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to create formulas is essential.
• Must handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
• Knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
