This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to process payroll accurately and punctually on a bi-weekly, weekly, or monthly basis for all employees.
• Manage payroll modifications including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
• Reconcile payroll reports, detect discrepancies, and take corrective measures.
• Oversee payroll tax submissions, year-end processing (W-2s), audits, and vendor relationships.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for payroll-related employee inquiries and resolve issues.
• Maintain and audit employee records within HRIS systems to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
• Lead the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring timely completion of documentation and updates to systems.
• Collaborate with benefits team members to address questions regarding employee benefits programs and deductions.
• Manage background checks, employment verifications, and I-9 compliance.
• 3–6 years of experience in progressive payroll administration.
• Strong proficiency with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and timekeeping systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws, payroll regulations, and compliance obligations.
• Proven capability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• High degree of discretion in managing confidential information.
• Payroll certification (CPP, FPC) or HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
• Experience in processing multi-state payroll is essential.
