Payment Integrations – Technical QA Manager

Posted 3 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Manage the entire onboarding process for new payment providers, starting from the initial technical call to credential setup, sandbox access, configuration, test design, user acceptance testing (UAT), production launch, and post-release stabilization.

• Serve as the primary responder for payment-related incidents, including issues with failed or stuck transactions, unconfirmed payments, and method-level discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution.

• Establish the acceptance criteria for new integrations and make the decision to proceed or halt before launch.

• Analyze provider API documentation and convert it into actionable specifications for the engineering team, including edge cases, failure paths, and confirmation model behavior.

• Conduct hands-on verification through manual checkout testing on both mobile and desktop platforms, callback verification using Postman, and execute SQL queries on transaction data.

• Maintain an updated catalog of payment methods and providers, detailing capabilities, integration types, testing statuses, and known failure modes.

• Develop the initial capability inventory for all active methods and providers.

• Generate a 90-day report on deposit attempts categorized by outcomes: completed, declined by the provider, user abandonment, abandonment at redirect, and completed but unconfirmed transactions.

• Take charge of incident management, build the catalog of methods and providers, and analyze deposit attempts in the initial months.

• Define and implement the integration acceptance criteria for live provider onboarding by mid-year.

• Sustain the catalog and acceptance gate as the team expands, while a Systems Analyst assumes responsibility for formal verification.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in payments, PSP integrations, or fintech platforms, with direct ownership of integrations rather than merely tracking them.

• Basic familiarity with AI tools in everyday tasks.

• Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous payment statuses.

• Understanding of confirmation models, callback mechanics, redirect flows, and common failure modes.

• Capability to interpret a provider API specification and pinpoint any missing elements.

• Proficiency in Postman or a similar tool for API testing.

• Experience in structured checkout testing on both mobile and desktop platforms.

• Proven ability to diagnose live payment incidents by analyzing logs and API responses, distinguishing between provider-side and platform-side causes, and clearly communicating findings to both provider contacts and engineers.

• Skill in transforming vague provider documentation and undocumented knowledge into actionable specifications and catalogs for engineering teams.

• Composure during incidents and effective communication with the team and stakeholders.

• Proficient in English and Russian at a working level; both languages are utilized daily.

• Experience with APM and local payment rails in Asia, Africa, or LATAM, beyond card payments, is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with bank transfer rails, virtual accounts, QR-based methods, mobile money, etc., is a notable plus.

• Background in brokerage, crypto payments, orchestration, or other high-volume payment environments is a considerable asset.

• Experience on the provider side, at a PSP, gateway, or payment company is highly beneficial.

• Regular use of AI tools in daily tasks is a notable advantage.

• Ability to work autonomously and make decisions without constant supervision is a significant plus.

• A proactive attitude and willingness to suggest improvements, solutions, and new methodologies is a considerable asset.

🏝️ Benefits

• Fully remote work within GMT to GMT+4, with no relocation necessary.

• Complete ownership of a provider from the initial call to production, including the authority to make go or no-go decisions on all integrations.

• Opportunities for scope expansion that align with business growth: cards, alternative payment methods, a card program, and new entities.

• Access to corporate AI tools integrated into the working process.
