• Delivers outstanding administrative and patient care support in a virtual healthcare setting.
• Acts as a primary contact for patients and clinical staff, managing incoming communications.
• Uploads and organizes lab results while coordinating prior authorization requests.
• Triages tasks to the appropriate team members.
• Handles patient phone calls, emails, and chat messages with professionalism and empathy.
• Provides clear guidance and follow-up regarding lab testing and medication refills based on physician notes.
• Assists patients in understanding the next steps in their care to ensure a positive virtual care experience.
• Initiates, tracks, and follows up on prior authorization requests for medications.
• Collaborates with providers, nurses, and internal staff to ensure efficient telehealth workflows.
• Upholds strict confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA along with all relevant privacy and security regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or higher is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare, telehealth, or medical office support role.
• Previous experience in processing prior authorizations and working with insurance verification is required.
• Medical billing and coding experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHS systems and digital communication tools (e.g., patient portals, ticketing systems, chat platforms).
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills with diverse audiences and varying communication abilities.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Comfortable with technology and capable of troubleshooting basic patient access issues.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
