This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee a steady and substantial flow of incoming and outgoing calls from patients, healthcare systems, and insurance providers, while concurrently navigating and updating various systems to address patient account inquiries and secure payments.
• Achieve the collection of overdue patient accounts by employing effective negotiation techniques and exceptional customer service abilities.
• Diligently document the progress of collection efforts within company and member systems.
• Investigate alternative insurance or payment solutions from diverse client resources while managing and updating multiple patient accounting systems.
• Evaluate caller status to guarantee the safeguarding of patient confidentiality and adherence to State and Federal regulations.
• Accountable for achieving monthly objectives and quality benchmarks through proficient and precise work methods.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Utilize, safeguard, and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) solely in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
• Maintain understanding and compliance with Information Security and HIPAA protocols at all times.
• Restrict access to PHI to the absolute minimum required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant position, including at least 1 year in an inbound/outbound call center setting.
• Strong understanding of the healthcare reimbursement process.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking, with the capacity to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely information.
• High integrity and reliability with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented approach.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
