This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Oversee patient navigation through the healthcare system within a multidisciplinary team.
• Build strong relationships with patients, serving as their main point of contact.
• Evaluate market data to pinpoint payor populations and confirm insurance benefits along with obesity-treatment coverage.
• Keep track of payor pre-certification requirements and assess policy modifications.
• Provide education to providers and staff on payor regulations to minimize denials.
• Identify available resources and eliminate barriers to patient care.
• Organize service-line appointments, laboratory and diagnostic tests, reminders, and manage wait-lists.
• Keep tabs on assigned patients during their admissions and aid in scheduling discharge appointments.
• Assist patients with prescription fulfillment while evaluating cost and availability.
• Record patient information and secure external medical records.
• Engage with family and community resources to meet emotional, social, and financial needs.
• Work together with social services on financial aid, entitlement programs, patient benefits, healthcare resource utilization, and cost efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field; OR an associate’s degree in a related field along with two years of relevant experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent with four years of relevant experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and negotiation abilities.
• Capability to collaborate with individuals from various social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Flexibility, open-mindedness, and the ability to adapt to change.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Capacity to sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work in a conventional office/clinical setting.
• Preferred: three years of experience in the healthcare industry.
• Preferred: one year of experience in statistical data analysis.
• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management or Public Health.
