This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Cultivate strong relationships with patients, acting as their main point of contact.
• Analyze market data to pinpoint payer populations according to regional payer mix.
• Confirm insurance benefits and coverage options for obesity treatment.
• Stay informed about insurance payer pre-certification requirements and assess policy changes.
• Inform providers and staff about payer regulations to minimize denials.
• Identify resources and eliminate obstacles to patient care.
• Coordinate appointments across various service lines, laboratories, and diagnostic testing facilities.
• Schedule and modify patient appointments, make reminder calls, and oversee the patient wait-list.
• Monitor the admissions of assigned patients, conduct daily rounds, and assist with scheduling discharge appointments.
• Help patients with prescription filling and evaluate cost and availability.
• Document patient information and acquire external medical records.
• Engage family and community resources to meet patients’ emotional, social, and financial needs.
• Collaborate with social services on financial assistance, entitlement programs, patient benefits, healthcare resource utilization, and clinical cost efficiency.
• Perform additional department-specific duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field; or an Associate’s degree in a relevant field with two years of applicable experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent combined with four years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: Three years of experience in the healthcare sector.
• Preferred: One year of experience in statistical data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation abilities.
• Capacity to work with individuals from a variety of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Flexibility, open-mindedness, and adaptability to change.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
• Capable of working in a standard office or clinical setting.
