• Manage incoming calls from patients regarding their medical billing and financial inquiries in a professional manner.
• Interact with patients with compassion and empathy, addressing their questions and concerns with the highest level of care.
• Process payments over the phone, ensuring accurate documentation and recording.
• Aid patients in establishing payment plans when necessary.
• Clarify and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements to patients, assisting them in comprehending their insurance coverage and the charges billed.
• Research and investigate claims that need additional attention, including denied claims or billing disputes.
• Work collaboratively with insurance providers and healthcare professionals to effectively resolve billing complications.
• Keep detailed and precise records of all patient interactions, payments, and resolutions.
• Remain informed about healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college coursework in a relevant field is advantageous.
• A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, or customer service is essential.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Competence in utilizing computer applications and billing software.
• Capacity to manage confidential information with care.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing codes, insurance terminology, and medical terminology is beneficial.
