Patient Financial Clearance Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist with insurance and registration Workqueues, along with other patient access responsibilities for Ambulatory Business Operations.

• Oversee all financial clearance processes for designated patients prior to their scheduled appointment.

• Ensure the completeness of patient registration information.

• Validate insurance eligibility and verify health plan benefits.

• Obtain PCP referrals and secure health plan authorizations.

• Estimate and collect patient liability amounts.

• Manage and redirect out-of-network patients.

• Clearly communicate patient financial responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment.

• Familiarity with commercial, managed care, and governmental health insurance programs.

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience with insurance plan authorization and referral processes.

• Background in medical billing.

• Prior experience using personal computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office and email.

• Excellent customer service abilities with a patient/customer-centered approach in all situations.

• Previous experience with EPIC Patient Registration or similar medical billing/registration systems (preferred).

• Experience with ICD and CPT coding (preferred).

• Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred).

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).

• Post-secondary education in healthcare or medical billing coursework (preferred).
