This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.
• The Patient Engagement Specialist will be tasked with managing service for incoming pharmacy calls and/or initiating outbound patient refill calls, guiding patients through the entire refill process.
• Proactively oversee medication refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication.
• Conduct outbound patient refill calls and fulfill patient refill requests.
• Address, resolve, and prioritize incoming inquiries.
• Confirm prescription orders with pharmacists and/or clinicians as necessary.
• Recognize medications that require special storage or handling, such as hazardous or refrigerated medications.
• Organize, manage, and refresh pertinent data utilizing database applications.
• Implement observations and suggestions to tackle operational issues, enhancing productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
• Spot trends, resolve issues; suggest enhancements; execute changes.
• Actively engage in process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a valuable business partner to stakeholders across the organization.
• Safeguard the organization's integrity by maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Enhance knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, reading professional literature, maintaining networks, and participating in professional associations.
• Additional duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned.
• We are looking for pharmacy technicians with state registration as a pharmacy technician.
• National certification as a CPhT or equivalent is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician and in adjudicating claims is strongly preferred but not essential.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, outstanding phone etiquette, and comfort with proactively engaging patients over the phone, along with the ability to reach out to on-site clinicians, payors, and pharmacies by phone; highly skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; able to swiftly learn additional software, adapt to Shields’ unique model/tools, and extract pertinent information; strong organizational abilities are essential.
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate business needs with health system partners, starting as early as 7:45 AM (EST)/8 AM EST.
