This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +7 more states.
• Plan and implement engagement initiatives for patients and caregivers across various platforms, including individual interactions, meetings, programs, and conferences of varying sizes, utilizing multiple communication channels.
• Facilitate educational in-service sessions for patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, clinic teams, and advocacy groups.
• Assist with national and regional advocacy events, conferences, and community initiatives, including those scheduled during evenings or weekends as necessary.
• Gather and relay insights from field interactions to internal teams and the National Director of PACE & DRS to enhance the overall educational strategy.
• Collaborate with the Residential Stakeholder Director (DRSs), Rare Disease Specialists (RDS), Regional Access Directors (RADs), and teams from Medical, Advocacy, and Marketing to ensure timely support and education for patients and caregivers regarding VYKAT XR.
• Act as a reliable and approachable resource for the PWS community by offering educational support without directing care or providing medical advice.
• Assist with Caregiver Advisory Boards, including the identification and coordination of suitable advisors.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the PRM system to record interactions with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Stay updated on disease-state and product knowledge through ongoing education and participation in relevant symposia, conferences, and educational events.
• Use only sanctioned resources and messages to fulfill functional responsibilities.
• Uphold the privacy of patients and their caregivers/families, ensuring all personal information is managed in compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
• Fulfill documentation requirements for clinical licenses and certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, dietetics, social work, allied health, or a clinical background; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector; experience in rare diseases with specialty products is preferred.
• Background in the following specialties: Endocrinology, Rare Obesity/Hyperphagia, or Genetics.
• Over 3 years of experience in designing and/or delivering patient, caregiver, or consumer-focused education, ideally within the rare disease arena.
• Prior experience in product launches is preferred.
• Strong comprehension of the legal, regulatory, and compliance aspects of the industry.
• Excellent grasp of patient literacy concepts with the ability to convey complex scientific and medical information in a manner that is accessible to patients.
• Proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse, cross-functional team.
• Exceptional communication skills and cultural awareness, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
• A self-motivated individual with a strong passion for rare diseases.
