Patient Collection Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the billing and collection processes for accounts with outstanding patient balances due to self-pay or insurance procedures.

• Examine weekly patient billing and review reports generated from patient accounts.

• Adhere to collection protocols for overdue balances, which includes sending text reminders and making phone calls.

• Handle incoming calls from patients regarding overdue balances and accurately document account details.

• Engage in revenue cycle meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

• Identify and address billing-related complaints.

• Respond to inquiries from staff, patients, and insurance providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• At least 2-3 years of experience working in a medical office setting.

• Familiarity with practice management systems and electronic health record (EHR) platforms.

• Stay informed about Medical Debt Collection policies.

• Capability to follow established collection protocols for overdue accounts.

• Competence in accurately documenting patient account information.

• Ability to address questions from staff, patients, and insurance companies effectively.
