• The Field Engineer I is responsible for delivering timely and precise Preventative Maintenance across one or multiple equipment modalities.
• The FE1 is knowledgeable of and adheres to all Field Modification Instructions and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins.
• Collaborates with seasoned Field Engineers, both onsite and remotely, to acquire skills in troubleshooting, repair, and equipment installation techniques.
• Plays a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.
• Develops proficiency in completing timely and accurate Preventative Maintenance, FMIs, and/or ISIs.
• Assists senior field engineers with equipment installations.
• Engages with experienced field engineers on fundamental troubleshooting and service repair tasks for designated equipment.
• Effectively communicates and collaborates with teammates and colleagues.
• Learns to communicate with customers effectively to ensure issue resolution and appropriate follow-up, ultimately leading to customer satisfaction.
• Collaborates with customers to suggest value-added services that enhance their operational efficiency.
• Stays current with administrative obligations such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records promptly, ordering repair parts, and managing cycle times.
• Utilizes the GEHC escalation process as necessary, working closely with regional and national support to develop and implement corrective action plans for timely resolution of customer issues.
• Acts as a member of the account community for key accounts.
• Proactively engages commercial counterparts, identifies potential sales leads, participates in sales opportunities like contract renewals, and aids in promoting and implementing revenue initiatives.
• Focuses on customer needs and satisfaction while enhancing relationships to become a valued partner in their business.
• Remains informed about competitor activities and market trends.
• Independently manages service calls without assistance within one year of employment.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR completion of the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR a High School Diploma/GED accompanied by 4 or more years of experience in servicing electronic equipment.
• Proficient in web applications as well as the Microsoft suite of products.
• Must pass GEHC's standard background check, which includes a post-offer drug test.
• Must adhere to all customer access policies, including obtaining and/or providing proof of required immunizations, and may require additional drug tests or background checks (including a federal government background check if assigned to support a federal contract).
• The candidate must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs. without assistance and frequently bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
• The candidate must also be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend the neck, and possess good hand and finger dexterity.
• Specific vision requirements may include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Must hold and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to be available "after hours" or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage as needed.
