Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver both on-site and remote professional services to Genetec clients and partners.

• Carry out installation, audits, assessments, maintenance, and support of Genetec systems at customer locations.

• Serve as the primary technical contact, both on-site and remotely, for key projects.

• Build and sustain strong relationships with both new and existing customers.

• Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Genetec's solutions.

• Accurately document all activities and anomalies encountered within the Genetec systems.

• Ensure prompt escalation of critical customer-related issues through the appropriate channels.

• Provide functional requirements based on customer feedback to enhance product improvement.

• Create an open forum for inquiries regarding strategic plans, best practices, and advice.

• Document service interventions conducted on-site or remotely.

• A valid driver’s license and passport are required.

• Experience in deploying and troubleshooting security systems, including Video Surveillance Systems (VMS, IP cameras and encoders, analytics, etc.) and Access Control Systems (Software configuration, readers, controllers, wiring, etc.).

• Strong administrative and troubleshooting knowledge of various Windows operating systems (Active Directory, SQL, file sharing, IIS, clustering, GPO, performance monitoring, etc.).

• Excellent understanding of networking principles and IP protocols.

• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.).

• Familiarity with principles and best practices of network storage (SAN, NAS, iSCSI).

• Skills in database querying and management.

• Understanding of server virtualization concepts.

• Experience with encryption and certificates.

• Familiarity with PowerShell is considered an asset.
