This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Conduct consultations utilizing the patient's preferred communication method (text, app messaging, email, or phone).
• Execute initial assessments by collecting and reviewing chart notes to evaluate the suitability of prescribing patterns.
• Carry out clinical check-ins to monitor adherence, effectiveness, adverse reactions, and drug interactions.
• Identify patients requiring clinical interventions and collaborate with providers to offer therapeutic recommendations that lead to improved patient outcomes.
• Facilitate the transition of care by transferring prescriptions to appropriate pharmacies when Alto cannot fulfill a patient’s prescription.
• Be accountable for communicating prescription statuses to both patients and providers.
• Collaborate closely with Specialty Operations to ensure quality care through the following:
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of pharmacy billing, including but not limited to Medicaid, Medicare, ADAP, commercial insurance, and foundation assistance programs to assist in troubleshooting patient cost barriers.
• Proactively identify and relay concerns regarding scheduling and delivery procedures.
• Develop and distribute drug information materials aimed at enhancing the performance of Specialty Operations.
• Stay informed of relevant and evolving regulatory and industry standards, ensure that appropriate actions are taken, and communicate these trends to the relevant personnel.
• Work collaboratively with a local and/or remote team to meet company business and compliance goals/objectives.
• A minimum of 5 years of pharmacist experience (or 3 years of pharmacist experience at a Specialty pharmacy).
• Proficient in utilizing software to enhance business processes, with experience in MAC OS applications, Google Apps, and database applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships across cross-functional departments.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering an exceptional patient experience via phone, text, and email.
• Ability to work autonomously and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of applicable state and federal laws related to pharmacy practice.
• Capability to review and assess the appropriateness of prescriptions concerning age-specific and disease-state-specific considerations.
• Ability to swiftly and accurately implement new processes and protocols, with an interest in defining such processes and protocols for the future.
• Specialty Pharmacist certification (e.g., AAHIVP, CSP) is preferred.
• Completion of specialized training or knowledge of specialty drugs/disease states (e.g., Biologics, LDDs, HIV/PrEP, MS, Oncology) is preferred.
• Experience as a pharmacy manager or Pharmacist In Charge is preferred.
• Current pharmacist licensure in multiple states is preferred.
• STA (Short-Term Assignment) employees qualify for legally mandated benefits, including paid sick time, workers’ compensation insurance, and unemployment insurance.
• Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) medical plan that emphasizes preventive care, including annual checkups, screenings, immunizations, and prenatal care.
