This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Conduct consultations using the patient's chosen communication method (text, app messaging, email, or phone).
• Carry out initial assessments by reviewing chart notes to evaluate the suitability of prescribing patterns.
• Perform clinical check-ins to assess adherence, effectiveness, adverse reactions, and potential drug interactions.
• Recognize patients needing clinical interventions and collaborate with providers to deliver therapeutic recommendations that enhance patient outcomes.
• Facilitate transition of care by directing prescriptions to appropriate pharmacies when Alto cannot fulfill a patient's prescription.
• Manage communication regarding prescription statuses with patients and providers.
• Collaborate closely with Specialty Operations to ensure high-quality care, maintaining a thorough understanding of pharmacy billing, including Medicaid, Medicare, ADAP, commercial insurance, and foundation assistance programs to assist in overcoming patient cost barriers.
• Actively identify and report areas of concern related to scheduling and delivery processes.
• Create and distribute drug information materials aimed at improving the performance of Specialty Operations.
• Stay informed about relevant regulatory and industry standards, taking appropriate actions when necessary and communicating these trends to relevant personnel.
• Work collaboratively with a local and/or remote team to meet business and compliance goals and objectives.
• Current licensure and good standing as a Pharmacist in CO or TX is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of pharmacist experience (or 3 years at a Specialty pharmacy) is necessary.
• Familiarity with how software can enhance business processes; experience with MAC OS applications, Google Apps, and database applications is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative relationships across cross-functional departments.
• Exceptional communication skills, enthusiastic about delivering an outstanding patient experience via phone, text, and email.
• Ability to work autonomously and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant state and federal laws concerning pharmacy practice.
• Capability to review and evaluate the appropriateness of prescriptions considering age-specific and disease-state-specific factors.
• Ability to swiftly and accurately implement new processes and protocols, with an interest in developing such procedures for the future.
• Specialty Pharmacist certification (e.g., AAHIVP, CSP) is preferred.
• Specialized training or knowledge of specialty drugs/disease states (Biologics, LDDs, HIV/PrEP, MS, Oncology, etc.) is preferred.
• Experience as a pharmacy manager or Pharmacist In Charge is preferred.
