This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as the main point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and support programs.
• Facilitate reimbursement, therapy access, patient education, and continuous care navigation.
• Work in collaboration with patient support program coordinators and ensure necessary patient chart and record documentation.
• Deliver clinical and disease-state education to patients, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
• Assist in securing funding and reimbursement approvals for prescribed therapies.
• Aid physicians in mandated transitions from originator biologics to biosimilars as per provincial regulations.
• Complete special authorization forms, enrollment forms, reimbursement documentation, and specific program requirements.
• Provide therapy guidelines, reimbursement criteria, and payer requirements to healthcare providers.
• Coordinate, document, and monitor patient services in accordance with established KPIs.
• Organize treatment appointments and medication deliveries in collaboration with internal teams and pharmacies.
• Document adverse events following procedures, regulations, and company policies.
• Assess processes and suggest improvements.
• Implement case management protocols, including monitoring, follow-up, adherence support, therapy disruption monitoring, and provider communication.
• Collaborate and cross-train with Navigators across various therapeutic areas.
• Function as a central point of contact for multidisciplinary Immunology patient-care coordination.
• Provide continuous patient support, education, consultation, therapy evaluations, adherence monitoring, treatment response evaluations, and dose optimization.
• Coordinate pre-biologic screenings, laboratory tests, tuberculosis screenings, imaging, and immunization evaluations.
• Manage routine blood tests, therapeutic drug monitoring, and fecal calprotectin testing.
• Oversee therapy changes, dose adjustments, treatment transitions, infusion appointments, and follow-up activities.
• Engage in therapy-specific training, meetings, conferences, and educational programs.
• Identify risks and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Keep accurate documentation in the Maple database and other relevant systems.
• Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare field.
• Experience in Gastroenterology and/or Immunology.
• Proven ability to foster collaborative relationships with patients, healthcare providers, patient support programs, pharmacies, and internal stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently while effectively contributing to a team.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities.
• Business savvy and the ability to excel in a corporate healthcare setting.
• Exceptional clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with biologic therapies and their administration.
• Experience with reimbursement navigation, special authorization procedures, funding appeals, and patient access support.
• Understanding of public and private reimbursement systems, funding pathways, and payer requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret policies, regulations, and reimbursement criteria.
• Background in pharmaceutical, healthcare, sales, marketing, or business administration is considered an asset.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Copilot.
• Experience utilizing patient support program platforms, electronic medical records, and patient management systems.
• Willingness to travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Maintain active professional licensure in good standing within the applicable province.
