Patient Care Coordinator, Specialty Pharmacy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main coordinator for patient cases.

• Ensure a seamless transition from referral to therapy completion.

• Support specialty pharmacy functions by handling prior authorization paperwork, scheduling medication deliveries, and aiding in document retrieval.

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a phone-centric environment.

• Execute claim adjudication responsibilities, such as prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility verification.

• Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare professionals.

• Conduct welcome calls and outreach initiatives to assist new patients with their onboarding process.

• Keep precise and organized patient records from initial contact through benefit verification, therapy initiation, follow-up, and case closure.

• Utilize various software platforms to manage authorizations, medication profiles, and patient communications.

• Provide assistance with patient inquiries and act as a backup during high-volume periods.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Registered Pharmacy Technician licensure is mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare or specialty pharmacy is necessary.

• Strong proficiency in computer skills, including Windows, Excel, and Word.

• Comfortable operating in a phone-based work environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Ability to function independently and as part of a team while remaining organized in a fast-paced setting.

• Preferred: National Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) certification.

• Preferred licensure in states such as AL, FL, TN, MT, OH, TX, or NY.

• Willingness to acquire registration in additional states.

• Familiarity with pharmacy terminology, insurance procedures, medical terminology, and basic pharmaceutical law.
