Patient Billing Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Join our team as a Patient Billing Specialist, where you will assist patients with payment processing, billing education, insurance verification, and claims-related inquiries.

• Provide empathetic, accurate, and compliant service while navigating the complexities of healthcare billing systems and policies.

• Execute all payment processing and payment plan functions, along with advanced billing, insurance, and claims support.

• Manage multiple systems concurrently while assisting patients.

• Maintain professionalism and empathy during intricate or sensitive financial discussions.

• Adhere to HIPAA requirements, confidentiality standards, and Privia security protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• Customer service or call center experience is a must.

• Experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims is highly preferred.

• Preference for candidates with payment processing or financial transaction experience.

• A high school diploma or GED is required; additional education in billing or healthcare is a plus.

• Technical proficiency in EMR systems and standard computer applications is necessary.

• Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual setting.

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English is required.

• A background check is mandatory in accordance with applicable laws.

🏝️ Benefits

• Starting pay is $14/hr with a shift differential (an additional $1/hr for nights and weekends).

• Working hours are from 7:00am to 7:00pm (CST); workdays are Monday through Friday.

• Paid training lasts typically 2 weeks, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (CST).

• Status is full-time at 40 hours, with benefits eligibility starting on the 1st of the month after 60 days.
