Patient Appointing Services Clerk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take the initiative to make outbound calls for scheduling specialty care appointments, preventative health visits, and surgery reminders for beneficiaries.

• Utilize the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) to verify patient eligibility.

• Manage the scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of appointments.

• Collaborate with other Puget Sound Military Health System (PSMHS) Military Treatment Facilities to ensure TRICARE access standards are met.

• Oversee call routing and maintain accurate documentation.

• Provide secure messaging to ensure appointment information is communicated accurately and efficiently.

• Assist military families and veterans by facilitating timely and precise healthcare appointment scheduling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Must successfully pass a background check to secure security clearance.

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other software programs.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.

• Capability to obtain clearance for access to the CSMHS military installation and receive a Common Access Card (CAC).

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats with staff, patients, and providers.

• Weekend availability is required as part of the team rotation.

• Relevant military experience is advantageous and may substitute for certain requirements.

• Preferred experience in healthcare administration or appointment scheduling.

• Prior knowledge of patient appointment systems, referral management, or healthcare environments is a plus.
