Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Be available during designated hours for communication with the RMI Global Coordination Centre.

• Arrive at specified medical facilities to welcome RMI patients within one hour of receiving notification from the GCC, or within agreed-upon timelines.

• Collaborate with the GCC to ensure that payment methods are established with the receiving medical facilities.

• Act as a liaison between medical facilities and the GCC when necessary.

• Facilitate prompt access to care while addressing issues in a pragmatic and professional manner.

• Translate verbal and written communications from the local dialect to English and communicate this information to the GCC.

• Visit medical facilities daily during extended inpatient admissions.

• Oversee patient welfare during their stay, ensuring comfort, clarity regarding treatment, and meeting reasonable support requests.

• Build collaborative relationships with treating physicians and obtain up-to-date information from the medical team.

• Provide timely verbal and written updates to the GCC concerning patient status and proposed plans.

• Engage professionally and confidently with client management as necessary.

• Utilize local knowledge to coordinate additional services as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a medical healthcare professional in the relevant area of operation.

• Proficiency in the local language and dialect (specific to the area of operation) as well as English.

• Preferred experience in patient advocacy within remote or international contexts.

• Experience with foreign travel.

• Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism.

• Proven self-discipline.

• Ability to adapt to a cross-cultural social environment.

• Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy.

• Valid driver's license for the area of operation is preferred.
