Patient Account Representative II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Manage the insurance aspects of patients’ responsibilities by utilizing third-party claims processing and payment guidelines.

• Accurately bill claims.

• Follow up on denied claims by implementing appeals and recovery procedures for denials.

• Address denied claim lines and claims with no responses to clear outstanding accounts.

• Evaluate and resolve credit balances on patient accounts.

• Handle refund request communications from insurance providers.

• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and engage in improvement initiatives.

• Participate in special projects as required.

• May oversee the work of colleagues.

• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least one year of experience in medical authorization, coding, or healthcare finance.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience of 10 years.

• Candidates must live within a 2-hour radius of the hospital.

• Regular keyboard usage and data entry skills.

• Capability to frequently lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Ability to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing between 25–50 lbs.

• Competence in frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive movements of the feet/legs and hands/arms.

• Skill in near and far vision tasks, depth perception, and color differentiation.

• Proficiency in using hearing and speech for communication and to detect alarms or malfunctioning equipment.

• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and grip.

• No specific professional license or certifications required.
