Patient Account Representative II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Manage the insurance aspect of patients' financial responsibilities by utilizing third-party claims processing and payment regulations.

• Accurately bill claims.

• Pursue denied claims utilizing appeals and recovery procedures for denials.

• Address denied claim lines and claims without responses to clear outstanding accounts.

• Examine and rectify credit balances on patient accounts.

• Address refund request letters from insurance providers.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements and engage in enhancement initiatives.

• Participate in special projects as required.

• Review the work of colleagues when necessary.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in medical authorization, coding, or healthcare finance.

• High school diploma/GED or a combination of 10 years of relevant work experience.

• Must live within a two-hour commute to the hospital.

• Availability for full-time day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

• Capability to frequently lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.

• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive movements with feet/legs and hands/arms.

• Proficient use of vision and depth perception for both near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.

• Effective use of hearing and speech for oral communication, including the ability to hear alarms and malfunctioning equipment.

• Frequent use of a keyboard and data entry tasks.

• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and lift/carry or push/pull items weighing 25-50 lbs.

• Rarely required to climb.

• No specific professional license or certification is necessary.
