This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Respond to incoming calls at the clinic, assess the needs of the callers, and direct calls to the appropriate department.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization, including department locations, satellite offices, and operating hours for over 350 providers.
• Conduct overhead paging and ensure communication is maintained during emergencies or code situations.
• Offer a 24-hour answering service for clinic providers, administration, IT, facilities management, and various other departments and offices.
• Update on-call schedules and record any exceptions.
• Conduct research as needed for management.
• Execute TeleNurse Intake responsibilities, which involve identifying patients seeking TeleNurse services, locating patients in the EHR and triage system, verifying patient information, and updating or registering patients.
• Direct emergency calls to the office nurse/TeleNurse in accordance with emergency protocols.
• Uphold patient service standards and follow departmental workflows.
• Report any workflow issues and complaints to the Manager.
• Adhere to incident reporting policies and procedures.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while following the Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office and/or telephone support is preferred.
• Candidates must live within a 40-mile radius of Springfield, IL.
• Proficient and accurate typing skills are essential.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• Strong deductive reasoning skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Excellent attendance record in previous positions.
• Intermediate computer skills along with knowledge of software programs.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Capability to sit for extended periods in an office environment.
• Must meet HIPAA level privacy standards.
• Compliance with OSHA and Springfield Clinic training requirements is necessary.
