
Patient Access Specialist II β Gastroenterology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Coordinate appointment requests and conduct outbound calls to arrange Epic referrals.
β’ Convey insurance participation details, financial responsibilities, and time of service policies to the patient population.
β’ Gather and enter patients' insurance and demographic information into EPIC.
β’ Execute real-time verification of insurance coverage.
β’ Collect pre-registration details to manage Epic work queue accounts.
β’ Offer support and provide backup coverage as needed.
β’ Handle general tasks such as faxing, filing, and sorting mail.
β’ Lead team discussions concerning intricate patient scheduling requirements.
β’ Address escalated cases with higher complexity as assigned.
β’ Refer issues to the lead, supervisor, or manager for resolution.
β’ Perform additional related duties as assigned.
β’ A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
β’ At least 3 years of relevant experience, including a strong understanding of medical terminology.
β’ Exceptional customer service, problem assessment, and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
β’ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required.
β’ An Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
β’ Previous high-volume customer service experience in a call center setting is preferred.
β’ Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are an asset.
