
Patient Access Specialist II – Gastroenterology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Coordinate appointment requests and conduct outbound calls to arrange Epic referrals.
• Convey insurance participation details, financial responsibilities, and time of service policies to the patient population.
• Gather and enter patients' insurance and demographic information into EPIC.
• Execute real-time verification of insurance coverage.
• Collect pre-registration details to manage Epic work queue accounts.
• Offer support and provide backup coverage as needed.
• Handle general tasks such as faxing, filing, and sorting mail.
• Lead team discussions concerning intricate patient scheduling requirements.
• Address escalated cases with higher complexity as assigned.
• Refer issues to the lead, supervisor, or manager for resolution.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, including a strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Exceptional customer service, problem assessment, and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required.
• An Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
• Previous high-volume customer service experience in a call center setting is preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are an asset.
