This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary point of contact for patients, delivering customer service that aligns with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.
• Assist patients in accessing Mercy facilities.
• Arrange patient appointments.
• Enroll patients in the system.
• Confirm benefits.
• Complete pre-certification and financial clearance processes, including collecting payments prior to visits.
• Gather and accurately enter patient information into medical records.
• Stay informed about insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and requirements from federal, state, and accreditation agencies.
• Preferred 1-3 years of clerical and customer service experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is preferred.
• A High School diploma is required; some college education is advantageous.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional telephone etiquette.
• Capability to build and maintain positive working relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance representatives.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to function effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and accurately complete daily tasks.
• Proficient with various computer systems.
• Competent in using a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard.
• Capacity to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during each shift.
• Skills to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as required.
