Patient Access Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary point of contact for patients at Mercy

• Uphold Mercy's reputation by delivering exceptional customer service and empathy

• Manage patient entry processes at Mercy facilities, which include scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance

• Conduct pre-visit collections

• Accurately gather and input patient information into records

• Stay informed and skilled regarding insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards

• Execute responsibilities in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and service expectations

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of clerical experience preferred

• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is preferred

• High School diploma is required; some college education is advantageous

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Exceptional telephone etiquette

• Capability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance companies

• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

• Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and accurately complete daily tasks

• Proficient knowledge and experience with various computer systems

• Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard

• Understanding of insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards
