This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as the primary point of contact for patients at Mercy
β’ Uphold Mercy's reputation by delivering exceptional customer service and empathy
β’ Manage patient entry processes at Mercy facilities, which include scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance
β’ Conduct pre-visit collections
β’ Accurately gather and input patient information into records
β’ Stay informed and skilled regarding insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards
β’ Execute responsibilities in alignment with Mercyβs mission, values, and service expectations
β’ 1β3 years of clerical experience preferred
β’ Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is preferred
β’ High School diploma is required; some college education is advantageous
β’ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
β’ Exceptional telephone etiquette
β’ Capability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance companies
β’ Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
β’ Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and accurately complete daily tasks
β’ Proficient knowledge and experience with various computer systems
β’ Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard
β’ Understanding of insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards
