This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary point of contact for patients.
• Uphold Mercy's reputation by delivering exceptional customer service and showing compassion.
• Oversee all aspects of patients' entry into Mercy facilities.
• Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments.
• Manage patient registration processes.
• Confirm insurance benefits.
• Conduct pre-certification and financial clearance, including collection prior to visits.
• Gather and accurately input patient information into records.
• Stay informed about insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and requirements from federal, state, and accreditation bodies.
• 1-3 years of clerical experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is preferred.
• A High School diploma is required; some college education is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent telephone manners.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance providers.
• Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Capability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and accurately complete daily tasks.
• Proficiency with various computer systems.
• Skill in using a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard.
• Understanding of and experience with insurance providers, Medicare guidelines, and requirements from federal, state, and accreditation agencies.
