
Patient Access Concierge – Entry Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and prior authorization tasks under guidance and supervision.
• Gather and input patient demographic, insurance, and clinical details.
• Confirm patient identity and maintain thorough, accurate patient records.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is complete prior to scheduled services.
• Verify basic insurance eligibility, benefits, and referral prerequisites.
• Obtain and document straightforward prior authorizations and referrals.
• Escalate insurance and authorization concerns that exceed the role’s scope.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel regular patient appointments.
• Address inquiries from patients, providers, and clients via phone, email, or other communication channels.
• Deliver friendly, attentive customer service and resolve simple routine issues.
• Maintain accurate records in assigned systems utilizing templates and checklists.
• Safeguard confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Adhere to client, payer, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Engage in training, shadowing, coaching, team meetings, and process discussions.
• Achieve productivity, quality, attendance, service, and other team metrics.
• Inquire and seek feedback to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• 0 to 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience is required.
• Previous healthcare or Patient Access experience is not necessary.
• Prior experience with EMR systems is not required; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus, but not essential.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Capable of following established procedures and escalating issues beyond scope.
• Ability to manage a consistent volume of routine tasks.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting with regular supervision and support.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection is required.
• A private, quiet workspace that ensures patient confidentiality is necessary.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and using a telephone or headset.
• Proficient in communicating clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and colleagues.
• Ability to handle a high volume of calls and inquiries, including phone communication for up to 8 hours a day.
• Frequent typing and data entry across multiple software applications.
• Occasional overtime may be necessary based on business requirements.
• Must uphold the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
