Pathology Solutions Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary authority on pathology workflows, specimen management needs, and laboratory operations related to molecular and precision medicine testing.

• Perform thorough onsite and virtual assessments of pathology workflows to analyze laboratory operations and pinpoint areas for process enhancement.

• Collaborate with pathology laboratories to enhance specimen acquisition, handling, preservation, storage, submission practices, and overall workflow efficiency.

• Create and execute consultative recommendations aimed at improving specimen quality, testing success rates, turnaround times, and operational performance.

• Work alongside Commercial teams to evaluate customer operational requirements and devise customized workflow improvement plans.

• Establish and sustain trustworthy relationships with pathology laboratory leadership by acting as a strategic operational consultant throughout the customer journey.

• Lead onsite customer interactions, workflow mapping sessions, laboratory evaluations, and operational reviews with pathology and laboratory leaders.

• Formulate implementation strategies to support the adoption of standardized workflows, best operational practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Track customer progress post-implementation, identify obstacles to success, and propose corrective measures to maintain operational enhancements.

• Design and conduct training programs for pathology personnel focusing on specimen collection, handling, preservation, submission criteria, workflow optimization, and best operational practices.

• Produce educational materials, workflow documentation, presentations, and implementation resources to foster customer adoption and ongoing process enhancement.

• Assess pathology performance metrics, operational data, testing results, specimen quality, turnaround times, and workflow efficiency to evaluate laboratory performance.

• Examine operational trends, identify root causes of performance issues, and formulate data-driven recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.

• Develop and present key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, dashboards, and executive summaries that illustrate operational performance and areas for improvement.

• Utilize Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance laboratory performance and operational effectiveness for customers.

• Report workflow insights, laboratory performance data, and operational improvement suggestions to pathology leadership and executive stakeholders.

• Investigate and resolve issues within pathology processes that impact specimen quality, testing success, laboratory efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

• Analyze trends in Quality Not Sufficient (QNS), challenges in specimen acquisition, pre-qualification delays, and workflow inefficiencies while formulating practical improvement strategies.

• Collaborate with Laboratory Operations, Logistics, Commercial, Product Management, Information Systems, and other internal teams to enhance end-to-end specimen management processes.

• Assist with new product launches, operational implementations, customer onboarding activities, and enterprise initiatives to guarantee successful laboratory integration.

• Provide customer insights and field feedback that facilitate process improvements, product enhancements, and future operational strategies.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, a related STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least five (5) years of experience in pathology operations, laboratory operations, healthcare consulting, pathology sales, laboratory process improvement, operational excellence, or a similar healthcare setting.

• Proven experience in conducting customer-facing workflow assessments and formulating operational improvement recommendations.

• Experience in presenting operational findings and influencing pathology laboratory leadership and executive stakeholders.

• Strong analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to convert operational data into actionable insights.

• Exceptional written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.

• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Willingness to travel extensively to support onsite customer engagements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and possess a general working knowledge of the Internet for business purposes.
