Pathology Solutions Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary expert in pathology workflows, specimen management requirements, and laboratory operations that support molecular and precision medicine testing.

• Perform thorough onsite and virtual assessments of pathology workflows to analyze laboratory operations and pinpoint areas for process enhancement.

• Collaborate with pathology laboratories to enhance practices related to specimen acquisition, handling, preservation, storage, submission, and overall laboratory workflow efficiency.

• Create and execute consultative recommendations aimed at improving specimen quality, success rates of testing, turnaround times, and operational performance.

• Work alongside Commercial teams to evaluate customer operational requirements and design customized strategies for workflow improvement.

• Establish and nurture trusted relationships with pathology laboratory leadership by acting as a strategic operational consultant throughout the customer lifecycle.

• Spearhead onsite customer interactions, workflow mapping sessions, laboratory assessments, and operational reviews with pathology and laboratory leaders.

• Formulate implementation plans that facilitate the adoption of standardized workflows, operational best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Track customer progress post-implementation, identify obstacles to success, and suggest corrective measures to maintain operational enhancements.

• Design and provide educational programs for pathology personnel focused on specimen collection, handling, preservation, submission requirements, workflow optimization, and operational best practices.

• Generate educational materials, workflow documentation, presentations, and implementation resources to support customer adoption and ongoing process improvements.

• Assess pathology performance metrics, operational data, testing outcomes, specimen quality, turnaround times, and workflow efficiency to evaluate laboratory performance.

• Analyze operational trends, determine root causes of performance issues, and create data-driven recommendations for corrective and preventive measures.

• Develop and present key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, dashboards, and executive summaries that illustrate operational performance and improvement opportunities.

• Utilize Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance customer laboratory performance and operational efficiency.

• Communicate workflow findings, laboratory performance data, and operational improvement suggestions to pathology leadership and executive stakeholders.

• Investigate and rectify pathology process issues that impact specimen quality, testing success, laboratory efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

• Analyze trends related to Quality Not Sufficient (QNS), challenges in specimen acquisition, pre-qualification delays, and workflow inefficiencies while formulating practical improvement strategies.

• Collaborate with Laboratory Operations, Logistics, Commercial, Product Management, Information Systems, and other internal stakeholders to enhance end-to-end specimen management processes.

• Assist with new product introductions, operational implementations, customer onboarding activities, and enterprise initiatives to ensure successful adoption in laboratories.

• Provide customer insights and field feedback that aid in process improvements, product enhancements, and future operational strategies.

• Execute other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, a related STEM discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

• At least five (5) years of experience in pathology operations, laboratory operations, healthcare consulting, pathology sales, laboratory process improvement, operational excellence, or a related healthcare setting.

• Proven experience in conducting customer-facing workflow assessments and formulating operational improvement recommendations.

• Background in presenting operational findings and influencing laboratory leadership and executive stakeholders in the pathology field.

• Strong analytical abilities with a demonstrated capacity to convert operational data into actionable recommendations.

• Outstanding written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.

• Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Willingness to travel extensively to support onsite customer engagements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and a general working knowledge of the Internet for business purposes.
