Pashto VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during a call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you will be interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical fields. Training will be provided.

• Deliver all messages accurately and comprehensively, without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Maintain the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations.

• Follow established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for acquiring new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide reports to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language, "Pashto".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial but not required.

• Understanding of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is advantageous (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
