Participation Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Oversee and reconcile accounts related to the profit-sharing retrospective program.

• Calculate, validate, and facilitate the timely processing of profit-sharing disbursements in line with contractual terms.

• Analyze both financial and operational data to assess program performance and spot trends, variances, or discrepancies.

• Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, schedules, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Assist in internal and external audit processes, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate issues, resolve discrepancies, and enhance reporting accuracy.

• Identify and suggest process improvements that boost operational efficiency, controls, and data integrity.

• Support special projects and carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, or program analysis.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in interpreting financial data and performing account reconciliations.

• Familiarity with GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts, including GAAP.

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.

• Understanding of profit-sharing, participation accounting, or retrospective financial programs.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to manage competing deadlines and handle multiple assignments independently.

• Preferred: 3+ years of relevant experience, experience in insurance-related financial analysis, ERP experience, CPA/CPA candidacy or advanced degree, and experience with remote/virtual work.
