Part-Time Software Engineer Co-op, Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Engage in Raytheon’s Cooperative Education Program as a part-time Software Engineer co-op.

• Attend monthly engagement seminars.

• Complete mandatory training as required by Raytheon.

• Participate in activities related to security clearance.

• Meet regularly with a mentor.

• Dedicate 2–4 hours each month to support co-op engagement and clearance activities.

• Acquire knowledge about customer mission concepts and technologies.

• Understand systems engineering principles, including requirements, architecture, design, and testing.

• Gain insights into software engineering, artificial intelligence, and agile development methodologies.

• Familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of continuous integration and continuous delivery infrastructure.

• Transition to a full-time onsite position in Richardson, Texas upon graduation and clearance approval.

• In the transitioned position, assist in the design, development, and maintenance of systems for customer missions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a Senior or Post-Graduate student graduating or completing studies in December 2027 in Computer Science or a related STEM field.

• A minimum of 90 credit hours must be completed by the start of the internship/co-op session.

• Experience in developing object-oriented software using Java in a Linux environment; experience may be from employment, research, academic coursework, or projects.

• Ability to troubleshoot software issues and implement fixes using a modern IDE such as Eclipse or VSCode.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• An active and existing security clearance is required from day one.

• Preferred qualifications include experience in agile development.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Python, C++, or JavaScript development.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS Cloud applications.

• Preferred: Familiarity with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.

• Preferred: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
