Part-Time Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Perform remote Telepsychiatry outpatient appointments, including initial evaluations and follow-up visits.

β€’ Carry out therapy sessions, medication assessments, and intake evaluations for both new and existing patients (students).

β€’ Create personalized care plans and deliver therapeutic interventions as needed, including ongoing medication management services.

β€’ Offer consultation and health education assistance to patients and their families.

β€’ Work collaboratively with students to formulate care plans and safety strategies when necessary.

β€’ Accurately document sessions, assessments, and care plans in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

β€’ Comply with established standards for clinical documentation quality, as well as HIPAA/PHI and telehealth regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A Master's degree in nursing and an advanced degree from an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing (APPN) graduate nursing program is required.

β€’ The APPN graduate education must encompass the study of basic sciences (e.g., pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, brain and behavioral correlates), advanced psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic techniques, followed by clinical rotations in outpatient mental health environments, hospitals, or residential care facilities.

β€’ Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and/or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in psychiatric mental health advanced practice nursing as the area of specialization.

β€’ Documented adherence to any state statutes and regulations governing advanced practice psychiatric mental health nursing.

β€’ Possession of 5+ licenses in the following states: CA, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MO, NC, NM, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, is required.

β€’ A Doctorate Degree is preferred but not mandatory.

β€’ A minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals facing behavioral substance misuse or other psychiatric challenges.

β€’ Proven experience in clinical practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse.

β€’ Excellent clinical writing, assessment, and active listening abilities.
