This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Instruct graduate-level courses within the designated programmatic core discipline.
• Engage with students, deliver exceptional feedback, and motivate them to achieve course and program objectives.
• Create and pursue a proposal focused on professional scholarship and personal development.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty members, the Associate Director of Faculty Support and Development, the Department Chair, and the Dean.
• Advocate for scholarship, teaching, service, and practical application.
• Implement the NU One-to-One apprenticeship-style teaching model and utilize Teaching through Engagement methods.
• Actively participate in research, scholarship, professional service, and pertinent professional practices.
• Teach master’s and/or doctoral courses in Marriage and Family Sciences.
• Engage in initial and ongoing training sessions.
• Experiment with and incorporate new technologies into the teaching process.
• Attend postdoctoral networking meetings.
• Maintain communication with students through phone, video conferencing, and email.
• Work alongside Academic and Finance Advisors to promote student engagement and success.
• Exercise academic freedom in alignment with university policies, procedures, and curricula.
• Participate in program and student assessment activities.
• Provide educational services in accordance with university policies, FERPA regulations, the Code of Conduct, and applicable laws.
• Complete tasks and projects as assigned by the Dean or university administrators.
• A doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution is mandatory.
• Academic qualifications should align with the mission and offerings of the Department of Marriage and Family Sciences.
• Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, and working with diverse student populations is highly preferred.
• Experience in graduate-level coursework and clinical training is preferred.
• Familiarity with educational technology and online teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience in curriculum development is preferred.
• Background in a technology-driven organization is preferred.
• A professional identity as a couple/marriage and family therapist is required.
• Graduation from a COAMFTE-accredited program is strongly preferred.
• AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor status is desirable.
