Part Time Inpatient Telephonic Staff Pharmacist – Evenings/Overnight

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver telepharmacy services to various hospital clients across multiple states

• Conduct remote order entry, verification of orders, drug checks, and counseling for patients and staff

• Support a diverse range of clients and function within different pharmacy information systems

• Offer proactive clinical pharmacy services aligned with client-specific requirements and Cigna policies

• Provide drug information and therapeutic recommendations, including adjustments in dosing, interactions, compatibilities, and guidance for infusions

• Advise patients, nurses, and medical personnel on the safe use of medications

• Investigate and resolve medication discrepancies within 48 hours

• Acquire knowledge and operate within multiple hospital pharmacy systems

• Document orders, interventions, and recommendations by the conclusion of each shift

• Ensure adherence to relevant pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal policies

• Troubleshoot any system or connectivity issues

• Utilize VPNs, pharmacy information systems, automation tools, Microsoft Office, Snagit, and other standard software

• Engage in continuous training and maintain necessary access credentials, licenses, and reciprocity

• Meet and uphold company productivity metrics

• Be available for evening, overnight, weekend, and on-call shifts, committing to at least 1–2 shifts every two weeks

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is required

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is preferred

• An active and in-good-standing Pennsylvania pharmacist license is mandatory

• Additional pharmacist licenses in states such as Ohio, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, and Connecticut are preferred

• A minimum of 2+ years of inpatient hospital experience is preferred

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Proven customer service skills

• Understanding of formulary management and Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) procedures

• Familiarity with client/server applications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, internet usage, and email

• Overnight inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred

• Hospital residency is preferred but not mandatory

• Board certification is preferred but not essential

• A cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed is required for remote work

• Availability for evening, overnight, weekend, and on-call shifts is necessary

• Maintenance of required access credentials, licenses, and reciprocity is essential
