This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Act as Instructors of Record and/or create courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Instruction may be conducted online, on campus, or through other authorized instructional formats.
• Scheduling is adaptable, aligning with both instructional and program requirements.
• Courses may be offered in synchronous or asynchronous formats, depending on the instructional model.
• Active engagement with students is anticipated.
• For undergraduate degree programs: A minimum of a master's degree from an accredited institution and/or substantial work experience in a related area.
• For graduate degree programs: A doctorate, terminal degree, or other advanced qualification in the relevant field and/or considerable work experience in a related sector.
• Previous experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
• Experience in online instruction is desirable.
• Familiarity with teaching in a competency-based education model is a plus.
• Adjunct Faculty instructing online courses must possess the necessary technology to effectively conduct classes in a virtual setting.
• Compensation for teaching and course development roles is established according to the University of Maine System Part-Time Academics Collective Bargaining Agreement (PATFA).
• Payment rates vary based on assignment, academic rank, qualifications, experience, and service to the University.
