This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Ensure impeccable financial records across various commercial corporate structures and individual property entities by utilizing QuickBooks Online and expense management systems; conduct thorough monthly bank reconciliations, handle transactional variables, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and prepare standard financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports) for CPA review.
• Manage and update portfolio debt schedules, loan trackers, and amortization tables; vigilantly monitor lender compliance requirements, gather necessary verification documentation, and maintain meticulously organized digital asset files including insurance policies and closing contracts.
• Monitor property-level performance metrics, such as occupancy rates, operational revenue, and Net Operating Income (NOI); assist company executives in developing annual operating budgets and conducting detailed actual-versus-budget variance analyses to identify financial discrepancies.
• At least 3 years of dedicated bookkeeping or core accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with multi-entity or multi-property financial management.
• Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online along with highly developed Microsoft Excel expertise (including proficiency in complex formulas, pivot tables, and fundamental financial models).
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, strong organizational skills, a high degree of self-motivation, a reliable internet connection, and a dedicated, professional home office setup.
• A formal accounting degree or a recognized equivalent professional certification (such as completed SAICA articles, SAIPA, or an equivalent accounting registration).
• Relevant prior experience in commercial real estate, property management, or the self-storage industry sector.
• Documented experience collaborating directly with United States-based corporate entities, regional financial frameworks, or American accounting practices.
