Paralegal Supervisor – Removal Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate the removal defense legal support team.

• Facilitate weekly one-on-one meetings, offering continuous coaching, feedback, and performance oversight.

• Assess training requirements tailored to removal defense processes and organize skill enhancement initiatives.

• Execute performance evaluations, assist in compensation recommendations, and address team concerns with firm leadership.

• Ensure compliance with rigorous checklists for EOIR/ICE submissions, hearing preparations, and calendar management.

• Evaluate work quality, monitor KPIs, and pinpoint process bottlenecks.

• Propose process enhancements to leadership.

• Handle escalated client calls with empathy and de-escalation techniques.

• Offer real-time support to team members during challenging client interactions.

• Resolve operational and client service challenges at the supervisory level to minimize unnecessary attorney involvement.

• Allow attorneys to concentrate on trial preparation and legal strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience managing teams of 5–10 individuals in fast-paced, deadline-oriented settings.

• 3–5 years of experience in immigration law, EOIR, or removal defense.

• Demonstrated success in coaching, developing, and holding team members accountable through one-on-ones, performance evaluations, and difficult discussions.

• Strong grasp of enforcing checklists, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control mechanisms in a compliance-sensitive environment.

• High emotional intelligence, resilience, and adeptness in conflict resolution.

• Mission-driven approach aligned with serving immigrant communities.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is mandatory, with native or professional fluency.

• Availability to work during Arizona business hours (8 AM – 5 PM MST).

• Access to reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home office is required.

• Familiarity with legal case management systems such as Filevine or similar platforms is preferred.

• Experience managing bilingual or remote teams is preferred.
