This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support attorneys throughout all stages of medical malpractice litigation, from initial case assessment to trial and resolution.

• Assist with client onboarding, case investigation, and preliminary evaluations.

• Collect, organize, review, and summarize medical records, billing documents, diagnostic reports, and other healthcare-related paperwork.

• Create comprehensive medical chronologies and timelines highlighting critical events, treatments, diagnoses, procedures, and potential deviations from the standard care practices.

• Conduct research and gather information on healthcare providers, facilities, procedures, and pertinent medical topics.

• Aid attorneys in identifying and coordinating medical experts and other litigation specialists.

• Prepare case summaries, factual chronologies, witness summaries, and materials related to litigation.

• Draft correspondence, discovery requests and responses, pleadings, notices, subpoenas, and other litigation documents under the supervision of attorneys.

• Assist with discovery processes, such as organizing documents, preparing discovery responses, reviewing productions, and tracking deadlines.

• Coordinate the collection of medical records, employment documents, insurance details, photographs, and other evidence.

• Keep electronic and physical case files organized.

• Help with deposition preparations, including organizing exhibits, medical records, timelines, and witness materials.

• Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.

• Prepare and manage trial exhibits, exhibit lists, witness lists, deposition materials, and trial binders.

• Monitor court deadlines, discovery deadlines, expert deadlines, deposition dates, hearings, and other significant case dates.

• Professionally communicate with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, insurance representatives, and other involved parties.

• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding administrative matters related to their cases.

• Input and maintain accurate case information in the firm's case management system.

• Assist with legal research and factual inquiries as directed by attorneys.

• Oversee case expenses, medical liens, settlement documentation, and other financial or administrative aspects.

• Uphold strict confidentiality concerning client information, medical records, attorney work products, and privileged communications.

• Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in personal injury, medical malpractice, or complex civil litigation.

• Strong comprehension of the litigation process and case management.

• Experience in reviewing and organizing extensive volumes of medical records.

• Capability to produce clear and detailed medical chronologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong attention to detail with an ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information in records.

• Ability to manage multiple complex cases and competing deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

• Experience with legal case management and document management software is preferred.

• Familiarity with electronic filing systems and litigation support technology is preferred.

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Paralegal certificate or relevant educational background is preferred.

• Experience with medical malpractice litigation, personal injury litigation, complex civil litigation, medical record reviews, medical chronology preparation, expert witness coordination, discovery and document production, deposition preparation, trial preparation, mediation preparation, electronic court filing, legal research, case management software, and document management systems is highly desirable.

• Must be comfortable managing multiple cases simultaneously and working under litigation-related deadlines.

• Strict adherence to confidentiality, privacy, data security, and document handling policies is essential.

• Full-time availability is required.
