This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee cases from the initial intake to final resolution
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents
• Create and electronically file court documents
• Perform legal and factual research
• Organize discovery and trial preparations
• Monitor deadlines, hearings, and case schedules
• Liaise with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
• Ensure the progression of cases by anticipating the needs of attorneys
• Minimum of 3 years of recent paralegal experience in a U.S. law firm
• Background in supporting at least two practice areas (Litigation, Criminal, Estate Planning, Probate, Family Law, Immigration, Bankruptcy, Corporate, Employment, Personal Injury, or similar)
• Bachelor's degree required
• Proficient legal writing, drafting, and proofreading abilities
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills
• Capability to manage multiple cases independently in a remote setting
• Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with electronic court filing (state and/or federal)
• Familiarity with legal research practices
• Experience with legal case management software
• Consistent access to high-speed internet and a professional home office environment
• Preference for a Windows-based computer
• Experience with Clio Manage or similar practice management software (Nice to Have)
• Trial preparation experience (Nice to Have)
• Familiarity with federal court filing (CM/ECF) (Nice to Have)
• Experience assisting multiple attorneys (Nice to Have)
• Background in remote work for a law firm (Nice to Have)
