This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Conduct video consultations with patients interested in medical cannabis treatment for chronic pain, which includes initial assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Make prescribing decisions based on evidence in accordance with our clinical governance framework.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pharmacists and nurses, with pre-consultation and follow-up tasks supported by the broader clinical team.
• Engage in the collection of clinical outcome data and contribute to the development of the UK evidence base for cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs).
• Participate in clinical governance, multidisciplinary team meetings, and the continuous enhancement of our prescribing protocols.
• Take part in CPD-accredited training in medical cannabis, including tailored specialist sessions.
• Complete a structured clinical induction prior to running your own clinic: observe at least three MDT meetings and shadow three full patient consultations (with patient consent); the first clinic must be supervised by the Medical Director.
• Engage in the high-risk patient register framework, implementing enhanced monitoring protocols for vulnerable, young, or high-frequency users in alignment with our clinical governance framework.
• Secure documented informed consent from patients before any prescribing decisions and assess mental capacity in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Prescribe based on independent clinical judgment; prescribing decisions are not influenced by session volume, revenue targets, or product selection.
• Participate in the monthly clinical audit cycle, which includes consultation note audits, reviews of prescribing rationale, and outcome audits.
• Maintain GMC revalidation and good standing throughout your engagement, and promptly inform the clinical governance team of any changes to your registration status.
• Full GMC Registration with a license to practice in the UK.
• Completion of Specialist Training (CCT/CCST) or an equivalent certification.
• Listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Pain Management (or an equivalent specialty).
• A genuine interest in alternative therapies and the evolving evidence base surrounding CBMPs.
• Comfortable working in a digital-first, telemedicine environment.
• Willingness to engage in structured data collection and outcome reporting.
• Complete mandatory training before starting patient-facing duties, including role-specific modules and annual or triennial refreshers.
• Report all incidents and significant events via our incident reporting process, which includes near-misses and adverse patient outcomes.
• Adhere to all patient confidentiality obligations and information governance requirements as outlined in our information governance and confidentiality policies at all times, even after leaving the role.
• An enhanced DBS check (to be completed before starting work, as required).
