• Attain yearly new revenue targets through consultative sales to new customers and by expanding service offerings to current clients.
• Annually create a Personal Development Plan that outlines personal and professional objectives for the coming year.
• Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects, sourcing leads from personal connections, external influencers, client referrals, CBIZ associates, and CBIZ marketing channels.
• Record activities, notes, and prospect information in the relevant CBIZ systems.
• Create and present tailored recommendations to clients using a consultative selling methodology.
• Effectively close new business opportunities, documenting both won and lost cases along with their respective reasons.
• Ensure a smooth transition for sold clients to the assigned client service team.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, fostering a strategic and personal relationship with key decision-makers.
• Collaborate with the client service team, as needed, to effectively serve clients and retain business.
• Engage with leadership to provide insights on market trends, competitor analysis, and other business intelligence.
• Identify, initiate, and facilitate cross-selling opportunities with other CBIZ business developers.
• Accountable for achieving annual sales targets, if applicable to the role.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Some relevant experience in the industry.
• Must acquire necessary licenses/credentials.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in the use of relevant technology.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
• Willingness to travel as dictated by client and business requirements.
