This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Engage in organized virtual, classroom, and practical training that covers insurance policies, claims processes, systems, and procedures.
• Assess, investigate, and document first-party property claims under close supervision.
• Collect information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Investigate and evaluate pertinent facts and documents, including leases, contracts, and by-laws.
• Determine and apply coverage for property damages in accordance with policy terms.
• Establish precise scopes of loss for buildings and contents for written or computer-assisted estimates.
• Communicate in a professional and timely manner with customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activities in claims management systems.
• Adapt to advancements in AI, digital transformation, technology implementations, system upgrades, and rollouts of digital tools.
• Access and inspect residential and commercial structures, including roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other confined areas.
• Participate in catastrophe deployments to support customers in other states.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED along with one year of customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Prior internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to secure an active adjuster license where mandated by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Eagerness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service capabilities.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Basic conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated willingness to engage in continuous learning.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be a resident of or willing to relocate at personal expense to the assigned Northern Virginia and/or Washington, DC area.
• Ability to carry, set up, and climb a ladder weighing approximately 38 to 49 pounds, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces.
• Insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification may be required; necessary insurance license(s) generally must be obtained within three months of commencement.
• Ability to participate in the Catastrophe Response Program and deploy to aid customers in other states.
