This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the engineering scope for complex multi-site OSP projects (fiber & copper; aerial/underground; pole, direct-buried, and conduit).
• Create and finalize (where applicable) engineering plans, splicing diagrams, loss budgets, BOMs, and construction work prints.
• Conduct advanced loop-loss and electronics sizing; strategize field-mounted switch serving areas and network segmentation.
• Lead reviews for constructability, value engineering, and route optimization; address clearance, capacity, and alignment issues.
• Direct and execute field surveys: pole, conduit, and buried-facility measurements; verify NESC clearances and prepare for necessary adjustments.
• Ensure adherence to NESC, client specifications, and Pearce standards; perform feasibility and economic analyses.
• Generate redlines/as-builts; drive corrective actions based on field QA findings to resolution.
• Manage comprehensive permit packages (municipal/county/state) and facilitate the approval of ROW/easements.
• Lead joint-use engineering efforts (pole attachments, loading, and make-ready); collaborate with IOU/co-op/municipal utilities.
• Extensive OSP Engineering: Demonstrated leadership in delivering complex, multi-discipline OSP projects (design → permit → construction readiness → closeout).
• Experience as a Project Manager.
• Design Mastery: Proficient in work order engineering (including road moves), loss budgets, splicing plans, constructability, and value engineering.
• Field & Standards: Practical experience in field measurements; comprehensive knowledge of NESC and client/industry OSP standards.
• Permitting/ROW/Joint Use: Proven success in obtaining permits and securing ROW/easements; leading coordination for pole attachments, loading, and make-ready.
• Financial & QA Discipline: Experience in building/tracking job budgets and conducting structured QA/QC and site inspections.
• Tools & Systems: Skilled in using PC applications and record/CAD systems; adept with measuring wheel, height stick, pull finder, and laptop in the field.
