This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Evaluate, estimate, negotiate, and inspect first- and third-party auto physical damage claims.
• Analyze claims related to collision, comprehensive, property damage, rental, towing, fire, theft, flood, lightning, diminished value, and injuries.
• Act as a technical advisor for auto claims personnel and provide guidance on claim damages.
• Ensure consistent service quality throughout the entire claims process.
• Manage assignments and promptly travel to vehicle or equipment locations.
• Coordinate vehicle or equipment inspections when they are not easily accessible.
• Assess claims utilizing technical knowledge, company resources, and estimating and evaluation software.
• Determine physical damage claim values.
• Prepare and document appraisals for vehicle or equipment damages along with Actual Cash and Replacement values.
• Collaborate with assigned Claim Professionals from the initiation of investigations to final recoveries.
• Negotiate claim values with customers and repair facilities.
• Establish settlement amounts for applicable total-loss claims.
• Negotiate and communicate claim settlements and initiate payments to customers.
• Provide inspection support to other business lines and departments, including catastrophe response efforts.
• Review coverage and apply relevant policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, and endorsements.
• Oversee the repair process while managing claim and expense reserves.
• Create and update action plans and claim diaries to ensure timely resolution of repairs.
• Communicate damage assessments post-negotiation.
• Obtain authorization to initiate payments to customers or repair facilities.
• Engage in the Catastrophe Response Program, which includes deployments lasting at least 16 days.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of experience in auto appraisal.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Associate's, Bachelor's, or Technical School Degree.
• State appraiser and claims handling licenses as required.
• Preferred two years of auto appraisal experience.
• Prior experience with an insurance company is preferred.
• Strong technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of auto repair and techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of automotive terminology and construction.
• Extensive knowledge of claims appraisal systems and overall claims operations.
• Proficient in Windows, including Excel and Word.
• Strong mathematical abilities and negotiation skills.
• Capability to participate in Auto Catastrophe response, including extended deployment and unscheduled travel with little notice.
• Ability to stay informed on jurisdictional laws and regulations and communicate compliance requirements.
• Commitment to ongoing education.
• Insurance license(s) may be necessary and typically must be acquired within three months of commencing the position, along with ongoing continuing education credits.
