Outpatient Facility Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform coding for outpatient procedures following client-specific guidelines.

• Accurately abstract patient data while ensuring compliance.

• Keep up to date with coding policies and regulatory changes.

• Use healthcare abstracting software and ICD-10 data sets effectively.

• Initiate physician queries according to client protocols.

• Inform leadership about any regulatory or compliance updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified medical coder with over 3 years of relevant experience.

• AHIMA certification is preferred; AAPC credentials will also be considered.

• Experience in outpatient and emergency department coding in large Level I Trauma facilities (SDS, OBS, ED; IR/Cath preferred).

• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

• Candidates must be based in the United States.
